Trace and Draw in Kwéyòl
Your phone shows your paper through the camera, with a faded picture on top. Follow the lines with your pencil and the drawing appears on your paper. Every picture is a Kwéyòl word.
- 1
Pick a picture below.
- 2
Stand your phone on a cup or a stack of books, about a hand's length above the paper.
- 3
Trace the lines you see on the screen, not the screen itself. Look at the phone as you draw.
Your picture stays on your phone. It is never sent to Jwé Kwéyòl.
Tips for a good drawing
- Tape the paper down so it doesn't slide while you draw.
- Draw in good light. A bright room or a sunny table helps the camera see your pencil.
- Tap 🔒 Lock once the picture is where you want it, so a stray touch can't move it.
- Turn the picture down with the slider as you go, to see your own lines more clearly.
- No camera? On a tablet or computer, the picture shows bright on a white screen. Lay thin paper over the screen and trace it like a window.
When you finish, say the word out loud, then write it under your drawing. Drawing a word and writing it helps it stick.
