How to Play Guess the Sound: a Saint Lucian Kwéyòl Listening Game
Goal
Listen to each sound and pick the Saint Lucian Kwéyòl word for the animal or thing that made it.
How to play
- Each round plays a short sound, like an animal call or a ringing bell.
- Tap ▶ Play sound to hear it again as many times as you like.
- Pick the Kwéyòl word that matches the sound from 4 choices before the 20 second timer runs out.
- After you answer, the English meaning of every choice appears, so you learn the words you missed.
- Play 8 rounds.
Scoring
A right pick is worth 100 points plus 4 for every second left. Wrong picks and running out of time get 0. Higher levels multiply your points.
Timer
20 seconds per round. When it hits 0, the round is marked wrong.
Levels
Beginner
20 everyday sounds: farm animals, water, a bell, a train and more. Points × 1.
Intermediate
Adds 9 harder sounds, like a horse, a hurricane and a sneeze. Points × 1.3.
Advanced
Adds 4 more, like the sea and a banjo, so there are more choices to mix up. Points × 1.6.

- Turn your sound on, or use headphones in a noisy place.
