How to Play Ki Koté I Yé?: a Saint Lucian Kwéyòl Places Game
Ki Koté I Yé? means “Where is it?”.
Goal
Read the name of a neighbourhood and pick the larger area it is part of.
How to play
- Read the neighbourhood's name, like Piat.
- Pick the area it belongs to, like Grande Rivière, from 4 choices within 15 seconds.
- See it on the map, with its district and population.
- Play 8 questions.
Scoring
A right answer earns 100 points plus up to 50 for speed, and the ×2 stretch question doubles that. From your third right answer in a row, each adds 25 more. Wrong or late answers get 0.
Timer
15 seconds per question. When it hits 0, the question counts as wrong and the answer is shown.
Levels
Every round mixes in 2 easier questions and one harder ×2 stretch question.
Beginner
The wrong choices can come from anywhere on the island.
Intermediate
One wrong choice comes from the same district as the right one.
Advanced
All the wrong choices come from the same district, so you need to know the area well.
Tips
- Think about which district the neighbourhood is in first, then which area in that district it belongs to.
