How to Play Match the Word: a Saint Lucian Kwéyòl Vocabulary Game

Goal

Match each picture to its Saint Lucian Kwéyòl word as fast as you can, with as few mistakes as possible.

How to play

1. You get 6 words and 6 pictures, shuffled into two columns.
2. Tap a word, then tap the picture you think it goes with.
3. A right pair locks in place. A wrong pair flashes red, counts as a mistake, and resets.
4. Keep going until all 6 pairs are matched. The round ends by itself.

Scoring

You start with 1,000 points. You lose 8 points for every second and 40 points for every mistake, but you always get at least 100. Higher levels multiply your score.

Timer

The clock counts up from the moment the round appears and stops when the last pair is matched. There is no time limit, but every second costs 8 points.

• Start with the pictures you're sure about. That leaves fewer choices for the hard ones.
• Slow and right beats fast and wrong: one mistake costs as much as 5 seconds.
