About Saint Lucian Kwéyòl
English is the official language of Saint Lucia, but Kwéyòl is spoken every day across the island, at home, in the market and on the radio. It grew out of French and West African languages, and it has its own spelling system, used by the official dictionary.
This site is an independent project made in Saint Lucia to help keep the language alive by making it fun to practise. Read where our words come from, or get in touch if you spot a mistake.
